SAFE San Juans (formerly DVSAS) is a non-profit agency serving the residents and visitors of San Juan County. Our mission is the prevention and elimination of domestic violence and sexual assault through victim services, education, community awareness and cultural and social change.
All of our services are free and confidential, and our agency serves people regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, income status, creed, or sexual orientation. We are an empowerment-based agency. Our trained advocates can answer questions about your experience, discuss what abuse looks like, and help you take action if you want to. It is always up to you. We help survivors use their own strengths and abilities so they can experience their full potential. It doesn't matter who you are, we are here to help. Please contact us with any questions.
SJICF Matching Fair Grant Information
When it became necessary to move to a virtual county fair in 2020, the SJICF staff was determined to find creative ways to keep the matching grant program alive. A virtual fair matching grant program was designed and will be launched during the 4 days of the fair, August 12-15. The online grant catalog will feature 28 local nonprofits in a wide variety of interest areas, including education, visual and performing arts, animal welfare and health and human services.
The virtual grant catalog will open on SJICF’s website at sjicf.org during the 4 days of the fair, August 12-15. SJICF will match up to the first $1,000 raised for each project. Additional bonus grants totaling $2,500 can be earned during the virtual fair through featured games designed to engage donors. Bonus grant game details and funding updates will be provided each day of the virtual fair via SJICF’s Facebook page and local news.
